Electric Wire Rope Hoist are a mechanical device which is used to either pull in or let out the wind or simply adjust the tension of a rope or wire rope which is also termed as cable. In the simplest form of itself, the machine consists of a spool also known as drum which attached to a hand crank. These are the root of such machines like tow trucks, steam shovels and elevators. The complex designs of the same have gear assemblies and therefore can be powered by electric, hydraulic, pneumatic or internal combustion drives. Electric Wire Rope Hoist include a solenoid brake and a mechanical brake that prevents the unwinding unless the pawl is retracted.
